BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of tapping the phones of his Cabinet colleagues, including senior Ministers Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and N. Uttam Kumar Reddy. Speaking to reporters in Khammam on Friday, KTR challenged the CM to undergo a lie detector test if he was confident. He also alleged that the CM was misleading the state regarding the Banakacherla project and the meeting between the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana. KTR questioned how AP Water Resources Minister N Rama Naidu claimed that Telangana agreed to form a committee to study the project. He dismissed the CM’s allegations about his meeting with AP IT Minister Nara Lokesh, stating it was a diversion tactic. KTR further criticized the CM’s abusive language towards KCR and BRS leadership, attributing it to frustration over unfulfilled election promises. He also claimed that the CM’s brothers were involved in land dealings and promised to expose them along with contracts awarded to the CM’s relatives. KTR termed the 42% BC reservations claim as a political drama, citing legal experts like Justice Easwaraiah, who stated it would not withstand legal scrutiny. Earlier, at a party workers’ meeting, KTR urged BRS workers to expose the Congress and channel public anger against the government towards BRS.

Telangana BJP Demands CM’s Resignation, Calls for BC Leader as Successor

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has called for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s resignation, urging him to appoint a leader from the Backward Class (BC) community as the new Chief Minister if he is genuinely committed to their welfare. During his tour of Medak on Friday, Rao emphasized that the Congress government must ensure the implementation of a 42% reservation for BCs in the upcoming local body elections. He accused the Congress of spreading misinformation about the Central government’s stance on the BC quota and criticized the inclusion of a 10% reservation for Muslims within the BC quota, arguing it would harm the BC community. Rao highlighted the BJP’s support for the BC quota bill in the Assembly and its role in establishing the National BC Commission. He also pointed out that over 20 ministers in the Union Cabinet, including Prime Minister Modi, belong to the BC community. Expressing confidence in the BJP’s performance in the local body elections, Rao criticized the Congress government for failing to fulfill its promises to various sections of society, including farmers and students. He also noted the BJP’s growing influence across urban and rural areas, expressing hope for a strong showing in the next assembly elections. Earlier, Medak MP M. Raghunandan Rao and other local leaders welcomed Ramchander Rao during his visit to Narsapur.

Kerala HC Probes Unauthorized Idol Installation at Sabarimala Temple

The Kerala High Court has initiated a probe into the alleged unauthorized installation of an idol of Lord Ayyappa at the Sabarimala temple premises. The court, in a suo motu case, sought an investigation into the permission reportedly granted by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to a private individual for this purpose. A Division Bench comprising Justice Anil K. Narendran and Justice Muralee Krishna S. directed the Chief Police Coordinator of the temple to submit a report on the distribution of pamphlets aimed at raising funds for the idol. Additionally, the Sabarimala Special Commissioner was instructed to inspect the premises for any illegally placed idols and donation boxes and submit a detailed report. The government’s counsel informed the court that the police had already begun an investigation and were using the virtual queue platform to inform pilgrims about the issue. The court had earlier requested all files related to the alleged permission granted by the TDB. The Special Commissioner, R. Jayakrishnan, had reported that the TDB allowed the chairperson of a multi-specialty hospital in Erode to install a panchaloham (an alloy of five metals) idol of Ayyappa without disrupting temple rituals. The report also highlighted the distribution of pamphlets containing bank account details, QR codes, and mobile numbers for fundraising. The Sabarimala Tantri stated that he was unaware of the idol installation attempt, which contradicted temple rituals, prompting the Special Commissioner to seek court intervention to halt such practices.
